Is it common for people to fall in love with someone else while still married? If so, why do they choose to stay in their marriage?

Yes you can and probably will, if you’re in the place I found myself. My ex left me in AZ to go back to CA to move closer to home and get a jib there. At the time I didn’t understand why he left our beautiful home and children loving there school. We’ll come to find out my now ex, was screwing my sister. Yeah gross huh. Well I didn’t understand why I felt like I needed attention from someone who really wasn’t my type. But I did. Because I believe I felt, although not knowing at this time he was not into me. I pride myself as a loyal woman. I felt such Shane I tried taking pills to end it. Well thank heavens God didn’t let it happen. Sad thing is my ex never let me know he was cheating, when he found out about mine. He let me feel guilt, pain, and shame. So yes I found another, when he first filed for divorce. I wouldn’t say we were in love. But we were so close so fast. This has been sixteen years. So yes we can find love when we are still married
